2025 RISE Program Application

Established at Cal Poly Pomona in 2013, RISE (Residential Intensive Summer Education) is a free, immersive, pre-enrollment summer program for high school students and incoming Cal Poly Pomona first-year students focused on promoting Black student success. Open to all students, regardless of race, color, national origin or sex, RISE empowers students through leadership development, academic preparedness and cultural competence and provides participants with the resources, mentorship and community-building experiences needed to succeed in higher education and beyond.  

RISE is split up into 3 cohorts:

1. RISE UP (Rising 9th and 10th Graders): July 13-15, 2025
2. RISE ABOVE (Rising 11th and 12th Graders): July 20-24, 2025
3. RISE BEYOND (Newly Admitted CPP First-Year Students): July 27-31, 2025

The final deadline to apply for the RISE UP & RISE ABOVE was Thursday, May 15, 2025.  
The application deadline for RISE BEYOND has been extended to Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
